How is Cruiser ECO-ACS production process eco-friendly?
- No pollution: No gas emissions, no solvents and closed circuit cooling of our molds means our employees, and everyone else, don't have to worry about what comes out of our ventilation system.
- Low Energy Consumption: short production cycles means less electricity is used.
- Zero waste production: Wherever possible excess material is grinded down and recycled back into the production process. Our steel molds ensure that only the necessary amount of material is used for each board.
- Extended product life-span: our boards are built to last, meaning they don't end up broken and taking up space in a landfill somewhere.

ECO-ACS construction (Exclusive to CRUISER ECO-ACS): Combine an ultra-durable polyethylene outer shell (like a kayak but lighter weight) with a full polyurethane foam core (like a surfboard) and what do you get? The most durable board construction available, period. Theromoformed in steel molds to ensure consistent and accurate reproduction of the original shape. Proven and long lasting with great performance, we've been making recreational wind and surf boards like this since the 1980's and many are still on the water today!
ECO-Comp construction (Exclusive to CRUISER ECO-COMP): Wrap a custom molded EPS core/fiberglass/epoxy board in a thin yet extremely durable layer of theromoformed ASA* polymer and what do you get? A stiff, lightweight board that is 30% more durable than a standard epoxy board. Tried and true, we've been making our high-end boards like this for exceptional performance and durability for over 30 years.
*ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is a copolymer based material with high impact and scratch resistant protection as well as remarkable resistance to degradation and discoloration from prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat, rain and common chemicals.

Construction Technique: ECO ACS surfboards are created using a molded polyethylene shell filled with polyurethane foam which is found in a regular fiberglass surfboard. This means that your new surfboard will survive dings and damage that would see a fibreglass board out of the water requiring repairs!

It is much more manueverable than the Surftech boards that I demoed and I like the ride better than one of the $1,300 Laird boards I tried....the Laird board seemed to flex or bounce a lot. If I was paddling the Laird into chop, the chatter went up my legs into my knees. I have not felt that at all paddling into chop with the Oxbow Cruiser ACS 11'4.
I did demo a $1,500 Hobie epoxy board and another epoxy board. I liked those fine, but can honestly say, not any better than my $799 Cruiser ACS board! Today I practiced stepping back and doing pivot turns on my board (watched a youtube of the manuever) and that was really cool! But I love this board and would recommend it to anyone.
